WHAT IS A HOME INSPECTION?
It's a visual non-destructive pre-purchase examination and evaluation of the systems and structure of the house you're planning to buy in the Twin Cities area.. It is not a guarantee or warranty as it cannot eliminate all your risk in purchasing. We take approximately 2 hours depending on size, age, and condition of the property and structure. Home inspections are very important when you buy a home.
DO I NEED A HOME INSPECTION?
Buying a home can be the largest financial decision you'll make. Before taking this difficult and sometimes confusing step, it makes sense to know as much about the condition as possible. We can help to minimize anxiety and effectively evaluate the risks of the property being considered.
COULD THE HOME FAIL?
A home inspection is not an appraisal to determine its value, nor is it a city inspection to verify code compliance. We do not Pass or Fail a home, but rather reports and communicates to you both positive and negative characteristics of the property, based on its current physical condition.
WHAT IF PROBLEMS ARE REVEALED?
Nothing is without flaws. If deficiencies are detected, it doesn't mean you shouldn't go forward with the purchase. We will assess and report on them so you'll know in advance what to expect before the purchase is finalized. This information may prove to be invaluable. Especially if serious deficiencies or issues relative to safety or health are detected.
DO I NEED TO ATTEND?
It isn't required that you are present, but we highly recommend it. You'll have the opportunity to see your prospective home from a different view point, be able to ask questions as they arise, and be part of an experience that we know you'll learn from and enjoy. We also welcome sellers and agents to attend.
